Transportation in Sinaia



The closest airport to Sinaia is Henri Coanda International Airport - (+ 4) 021 204 1000, (+ 4) 021 201 4000, in Bucharest, which is about 96 km away from the city.


The most popular way to reach Sinaia is by train, especially during winter. The train service is provided by CFR.


By car, Sinaia can be reached by following the DN1 - E60 road. It can also be reached by following DN71, from Targoviste, through Pucioasa, Fieni, Moroieni, which would bring drivers in the south part of the resort, between Izvorul Dorului Bridge and the city stadium.


Although, the city has some public transportation, the best way to get around is considered to be by car, on long distances, or by foot, on short ones.

Gondola Lift Information



In Sinaia, the gondola lift runs from Monday to Friday, between 08:30 and 16:00, and between 08:30 and 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, operating on a full-schedule mainly during the winter season. Outside the season, the gondola may possibly run on a limited basis, depending on demand.


It is the best and fastest way to reach cota 1400 or cota 2000 from Sinaia, on the way up tourists being delighting with breathtaking views over the entire resort.


If only going up, the fare to reach cota 1400 is 11.5 RON for adults and 6.5 RON for children with the age between 5 and 12, and 21 RON for adults and 11 RON for children, to reach cota 2000.


A full ticket, which includes a ride up and a ride back down, would cost adults 20 RON and children 11 RON to reach cota 1400, while, if wanting to reach cota 2000, the fares would be 40 RON for adults and 20 RON for children.
